types of community groups
What is a Community Group?
A Community Group is a group of people who have decided to live life together with Gospel intentionality. They meet regularly during the week to discuss and apply God’s Word to their lives, pray, and share everyday life with each other.
Why do we have groups?
We have groups because we are committed to making disciples who make disciples in response to Jesus’ command to, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.’ (Matthew 28:19-20)
Community Groups are the way we intentionally disciple people (help them grow in their relationship with Jesus), provide a place for people to belong and be known (community), and be the scattered people of God during the week.
Types of Groups
We envision building a church where every person is sharing their life with others in community. To see this become a reality, we’ve recognized that people are different and they connect differently. To make sure every person finds a place to belong and grow as a follower of Jesus, we have three different types of groups:
3s and 4s...Smaller, tight knit groups of 3 to 4 people sharing all of life together
Small Groups...Medium size group of 8-12 people sharing all of life together
Mid-Size Groups...Larger groups of 20+ people who share all of life together
What do the groups do?
There’s no one size fits all approach to what a group does but Community Groups are the scattered people of God who meet regularly during the week to live with Gospel intentionality by eating together, singing and playing music, talking about the Bible, praying together, serving together, and having fun, all in the context of everyday life.
